Lorraine is a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and accredited member with the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the Irish Council of Psychotherapy (ICP).  Lorraine believes the very essence of her work lies in the relationship that develops where a trusting, therapeutic alliance infiltrates a space for change and healing.

Lorraine is aware of the difficult challenges life can conjure, the dark hole that can appear to be too difficult to transcend and how withdrawal can seem like the only option.  She is committed to assisting you in your journey away from the pain, struggle and internal conflict when you decide that peace, harmony and contentment are what you want from life.  Lorraine integrates Psychodynamic, Person-Centred, CBT and Psychosynthesis approaches in her work.

Lorraine engaged in a four year training incorporating a Graduate Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice at Turning Point Training Institute in DúnLaoraighe/Dublin City University, before completing her Masters; MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy, specialising in trauma.  The course is recognised by the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (IACP), the Irish Association of Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (IAHIP) and the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP).  Lorraine's additional qualifications include a Masters in Community Development, a BA in Geography and Sociology and Politics, and a Certificate in Group Dynamics and Facilitation.  Lorraine engaged in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training for over six years.

Further to her work in counselling and psychotherapy Lorraine educates parents in child development focusing on the early years. She is part of a team rolling out the Lifestart Programme at An Cosán, Tallaght, Dublin 24.  Prior to this Lorraine worked as a Social Care Worker and Senior Social Care Worker for over six years since 2007 with children and families in the care system. She also worked as a trainee Psychotherapist with the HSE Mental Health outpatient care in Kildare Town, Newlands Institute for Counselling, Clondalkin and Turning Point Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre, DúnLaoraighe.  This previous work has lead her to deal with behavioural issues, child psychiatric issues, anorexia, drug and alcohol misuse problems, family breakdown and support.  She has a wealth of experience in parenting support and skills. She is currently based at the Farigreen Clinic and the Primary Care Psychotherapy, Vista Clinic, Naas, Co. Kildare.
